"Mowgli and Bagheera," by the incomparable Gino D'Achille (more in post)

Gino was a Roman bloke (literally, from Roma, Italia) who produced a tonne of classic painted content for a wide range of literary series, such as John Carter of Mars, Sherlock Holmes, The Jungle Book, Fu Manchu, Arthurian legends, Jack Vance’s Science Fantasy, as well as stories by Daphne du Maurier, Mary Stewart, and Flashman.

In terms of this specific painting, The Jungle Book by Disney is absolutely my favorite animated film of all time, and my favorite gateway to the Kipling tales. Now, if you’ve somehow had the terrible, awful, perfectly dreadful misfortune upon not seeing that most excellent film, then may I offer you a helpful tidbit?

(BONUS PTS: if you didn’t previously know who did the voice of “Kaa,” the constrictor-snake, but figured it out while watching!)
