We had dinner, talked then went to sleep (had my own bed) In the morning, I found myself having breakfast with the whole family. Then I discovered her husband worked at IBM and now invests in Al startups. We started yapping like craazy about Al, investments and such, the conversation was really fruitful, and I got to see how an investor actually spends their morning lol. None of this would have happened if i didn't force myself to talk to strangers Being curious is fun, who knows what can happen if you just say "Hi" to someone. Enough with the sympathy posts about Microsoft layoffs. People who stayed in one job for 10, 20, even 25 years - They weren't loyal to the company. They were loyal to their self-interest. How do I know? Because I've been in one organization for 3 months, and in another for 3.5 years. It's always been about mutual benefit, not loyalty. Layoffs are unfortunate, yes. But let's stop confusing tenure with loyalty. Years served don't mean you were ever safe or ever owned.
