Police and government should not get to decide what we can protest or not.
Because according to Chris Minns, pro-Palestine rallies were to blame for the Bondi attack (it’s definitely not religious extremism everybody!!!).
“The New South Wales premier wants parliament to grant his government “extraordinary powers” to effectively ban protests for three months, claiming the “implications” of pro-Palestine rallies could be seen in the Bondi terror attack that killed 15 people.”
…
“When you see people marching and showing violent bloody images, images of death and destruction, it’s unleashing something in our community that the organisers of the protest can’t contain,” Minns said.
“The truth of the matter is, we can’t risk another mass demonstration on that scale in NSW. The implications can be seen, in my view, on Sunday.”
Yeah, what possible motivation might anyone have in a democratic society to protest imperialist thuggery?
Aussies have been doing a lot of things right for some time. It’s not a society without its ills, but they’re good cunts.
And you think arresting protesters is an example of that?
The fact that there are protesters to arrest means the soul of the country hasn’t gone completely dark yet…
Oh shit I don’t know what the fuck went through my mind, I think I just forgot what the post was about and went on a tangent. ̄\_ (ツ)_/ ̄
